People take note: DON'T HAVE KIDS!!!

I am utterly disgusted with children. they're not well behaved, they smell, and they don't know how to act in public! And then their parents take up for them. I'm not really sure if it's the children that I hate, or their parents, but today, I was thinking that there should be classes or something that you have to go to, like the kind of things you do before you adopt children. Just because a couple is fertile doesn't mean that they should be ALLOWED to have children. Also, I become more and more in favor of modest proposals.

First Weekend Staying in Atlanta!

So, I finally got to stay in Atlanta for a weekend, which was very cool! Patti and I went out in the Highlands for happy hour friday, then met some friends at Amsterdam.....then went to Hoedowns, as Patti was intrigued by gay cowboys. We didn't stay there too long (either of them) then went back to the Highlands and then slept at her place!
As awesome as that was, Saturday was even better. Melissa and Brashley and I went to lunch, then I looked at cars, which I'm somewhat getting excited about, as I am finding things that I like (whoa!) Thoughts on a Saturn Vue vs. a Nissan Altima? Anyway....after that, we went to see Collective Soul at Chastain...which was again, very cool. I've never been to a concert there, and it was like tailgating at Ole Miss! people broght food, drink, tables, table cloths. It was amazing!!! It is the ONLY place to see a concert!!! you get to bring your own food and alcohol. BRILLIANT!!

also: Quote of the weekend:
Patti: "Robert, I'm not sure how to feel about the guy with the purse!"

There are no more marvelous things

At least that's what the History Channel has just convinced me of. Their hit show "Modern Marvels" just came on, and it was all about bricks. Bricks...yes, bricks, no bricks that do something other than support houses, etc...but just plain, terra-cotta bricks. I'm a little bit disturbed by this. There is nothing modern, or marvelous for that matter about bricks. My roommate told me they did one about nuts, which as far as I can tell have been around since the garden of eden, and again, are not marvelous. oh well. who knows what's next....Modern Marvels Paper?

Enjoyed work....

So, I actually did something today I haven't done in a full week. I actually enjoyed work!! I didn't really know how to deal with it. I don't know how long this will last, and I don't really know exactly why I enjoyed today. Maybe it stems from people finally treating like I have sense and am not a complte moron. I guess they don't know that I have been testing for Titratable Acidity and salt content since I was in about the seventh grade. Granted, there are things that I don't know, and still need to learn, but there are some things that come as second nature to a science person, and especially a foodie. Sooo...Maybe the job will begin to suit me soon...who knows....

more personal stuff....i'm trying to get back into running....half marathon is in November. It is tough to come home from work and go for a run while it's still 150 degrees, but, sometimes, that's what it takes! But, I have been running around Grant Park, which is a handy marker to have.....

Oh, and I miss Athens like there's no tomorrow. It's not everywhere you can find someone to go downtown on a Monday night, also, there's really no concentration of bars in Atlanta like there is in Athens...it's pretty hard to go bar hoppin' like in the olden days...you know, last month!

Finally moved to Atl!!

Hey, yeah, so it's been awhile, but I'm probably not gonna keep up with it. Who knows. We all shall see! I finally got a job in Atl and a friend of mine was very kind and let me move in with him (temporarily). So, I'm looking for a house or an apt of my very own so that I can be an actual adult, also a roommate to live in said house. I'm looking in Grant Park. I really love this area, plus it's close to damn near everything. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to work. I love it. So, if anybody knows of a house in this area for sale in my price range...give me a holler
